Though the cross around her neck indicates she was Christian, she was also found to be an ethnic Yakut woman — not Russian — and buried in the 19th century.
Experts have dated the woman to the mid-1800s. The ethnic Yakut was buried in leather stockings that had fur-lined boots attached to them.
